Nestled on 12 mountainous acres just minutes from the Smokies, the Pigeon Forge Island, and Gatlinburg, this hidden gem was brought to life by Wendell and Kathryn Tanner, who purchased eight cozy cabins on December 9, 2021. What started as a simple vision for overnight rentals quickly blossomed into something much deeper—a place for destination weddings, Christian retreats, and families with special needs to gather, celebrate, and rest.
From Cabins to a Complete Wedding Experience
Each of the eight cabins was carefully renovated and furnished with comfort and hospitality in mind. After completing the upgrades, the Tanners felt called to expand their vision. In July 2024, with help from Mary Kate Wyatt, the venue was rebranded as The Mustard Seed Venue—a name that reflects faith, growth, and a whole lot of love.
Today, The Mustard Seed Venue is a multi-use wedding destination with a focus on full-day weddings, elopements, and micro-weddings. With a max capacity of 120 guests and accommodations for up to 66 overnight guests, couples and their loved ones can truly turn their celebration into a Smoky Mountain cabin wedding.
